JOIN OUR PROJECT
Working Towards a world where authentic community and sustainable living are the foundation of all aspects of our society.
Given the New Zealand housing shortage and the extremely overpriced housing market we are exploring new affordable ways of people living together with greater sense of community.
What we are developing in Northland is a sustainable living opportunity based on the traditional Pacific Island living where everyone has there own Whare, but there is communal sharing of food and time spent working and playing together.
Sustainable living is more than just using alternative energy and growing your own food it is also about learning to live in harmony with each other and the environment. We want to show what is possible and be a model for other communities too.
Our current corporate controlled society tries to make us buy more and more, in reaction to that there is a growing number of people who want to live more simply. There is an explosion of interest in Tiny homes, campervans and the idea of living in community and we are hoping to add an opportunity to this type of lifestyle.
For Stage 1 of the development there are 20 sites available. Some sites will allow a 30m2 cabin and others a Tiny house on Wheels (THOW). This will come with a 70m2 surrounding garden area. There will be a shared community hub which will consist of a licensed kitchen, a living/eating space, a bathroom and a workshop area. Additional facilities will be developed according to what the community feels is required. Initially the community will be able to use the facilities that will ultimately be used to accommodate guests as part of the workshops centre.
People will have their own space for living, sleeping and relaxing. They will also have a garden area of around 70m2.
There will be shared kitchen, dining, lounge, laundry , library ,workspaces, bathrooms and other facilities to be developed as the community agrees.
There will be shared orchards and gardens, and further space will be available to lease to graze animals or grow personal plants.
There will be a daily rhythm of meditation, yoga practice, sharing circles, community mahi, and shared meals and events.
We can make agreements on how best to live and grow together in harmony ,
